This is a selection of coursework that shows a variation of skills and subjects
ODU international MARITIME INSTITUTE Consulting Project
MKTG 428: SERVICES MARKETING
During this course, we had to get into small groups and collaborate on ideas to present to the ODU International Maritime Ports & Logistics Institute AKA the ODU Maritime Institute. We looked at the Institute's website and analyzed its web presence. This entailed looking at all social media accounts, checking hashtags, mentions in articles, news stories, industry records, etc.
In my team, I was the leader, and I was responsible for assisting the professor with compiling all of the recommendations into a consolidated Google Doc. In addition, all of the team leaders attended a Board of Directors meeting to present our findings and recommendations.
COFFEE SHOP RETAIL BUSINESS PLAN
MKTG 412: RETAIL MARKETING
For this project, we were decided into small groups and had to create a mock retail store and design a business plan. Our group decided on a brick-and-mortar coffee shop that would be located in colonial Williamsburg, VA, USA.
Coffee shops are everywhere, so the most difficult decision was what our niche would be. Since themes market well, we decided to go with a fantasy theme where the store decor and menu items change every month.
ACQUISITION CONSENSUS PROPOSAL
MKTG 402: CONSUMER BEHAVIOR
The purpose of this assignment was to pretend we worked for a company that was planning on acquiring another company, called Taisteal Green Travel. I had to write an acquisition proposal to my boss and decide what was the best method to use for the acquisition, based on what little information we were provided.
I have never done an acquisition assignment before, so this was a very interesting assignment that allowed me to think creatively and analytically.
usability test kit
MKTG 450: MARKETING ON THE INTERNET
The purpose of this assignment was to create a sample usability test for a website of my choice. From a set list of websites, I chose to go with Starbucks, since I am familiar with them but was not familiar with the website.
I had to make the test for someone who was not familiar with Starbucks and see how well they can navigate the website. It was a bit of a challenge. I had to make the test simple enough for those that are not savvy with technology and the internet. However, I could not blatantly tell the user where to go to find the requested information. There was a lot of critical thinking involved with this.
GOOGLE PIXEL V PRO MARKETING PLAN
MKTG 311: MARKETING PRINCIPLES & PROBLEMS
This paper was designed to make me think of a product, that doesn't exist, and create a marketing plan to promote the product to consumers. Since I love Android phones, I decided to pitch a new Google Pixel V Pro. At the time that I wrote this, Google was still on the Pixel 4 model, as there were rumors that the Pixel line of smartphones was not going to continue.
I wanted to do the research and show that Google Pixel smartphones had amazing potential and present ways that the new model can be marketed to attract consumers. This entailed doing a lot of research on smartphone features, marketing techniques, sales history, and pricing models.
SOCIAL MEDIA and social anxiety RESEARCH PAPER
IT150G: BASIC INFORMATION LITERACY & RESEARCH
In this assignment, I chose a topic and explained how it was related to technology. I decided to use Social Anxiety and how it is related to Social Media. I have a personal connection with anxiety and I believe the effect that social media can have on people's mental health, is not discussed often.
This project made me think about how much time I consume online and how I interact with others on the internet.
ART STORE BUSINESS PLAN
BUSN 110: INTRODUCTION TO CONTEMPORARY BUSINESS
For this project, the task was to create a business plan for a mock business. Since I am an artist, I had already thought about having an e-commerce art business. So, I used that as my inspiration for this paper. This was one of the most realistic papers that I had to write. I figured if this was a good plan, I could use it to start my own business.
consumer DECISION MAKING PAPER
MKTG 402: CONSUMER BEHAVIOR
This paper showcased my knowledge of the different stages that consumers go through during the buying process. This is essential to understand in marketing because you have to worry about the customer changing their mind at any stage during the process. They must stay interested and engaged when they have plenty of other options.
